Dr. Kurtz received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Sciences and Biological Sciences from the University of Vermont in 2002 and received a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2007.
Dr. Kurtz's veterinary interests include canine and feline internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and even some exotic animal medicine! She enjoys working not only with cats and dogs, but also potbellied pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters and other small mammals. Dr. Kurtz loves working with owners to ensure the best feeding plan and home environment set up to allow these special pets to thrive. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the New York State Veterinary Medical Society (NYSVMS), and also maintains USDA-APHIS veterinary accreditation.
When not at work, Dr. Kurtz enjoys spending time with her husband and her two young daughters. She also has a Cornish Rex cat named Neil Patrick Harris and a DSH cat named Joshua.
